Melissa Floyd is an intern at A Freeman’s Place Counseling and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology. Melissa has completed graduate-level coursework in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, including specialized classes in Addiction Treatment, Family Psychology, Group and Career Counseling, among others, providing a strong foundation for professional practice. Her therapeutic work focuses on supporting individuals from justice-impacted and underserved communities who are struggling to cope with life’s challenges.

Through compassionate and culturally informed counseling, Melissa helps clients develop healthy coping mechanisms, find emotional balance, and work toward a more peaceful and empowered future. Melissa is committed to creating a supportive, judgment-free space for healing, growth, and transformation. If you’ve been impacted by the justice system or come from a community that’s too often overlooked, she believes you deserve care that sees your pain, your strength, and your potential. As an intern, Melissa is here to support you in navigating life’s challenges, building resilience, and finding peace. Together, she’ll explore with you what healing looks like and help you take steps toward the life you deserve.
