Medication Management
AFPC offers medication management with our on site psychiatrist.
A psychiatrist or APN (Advanced Practice Nurse) will give you an initial checkup similar to what a primary care provider might provide. This checkup is called an assessment. The assessment is a discussion between you and the psychiatrist about your symptoms. The assessment will help to determine whether or not medication is a good option in the treatment of your mental health. Then as a result of the assessment, a diagnosis is made and a treatment plan is designed for your particular needs.
Medication Management Appointment
If medication is decided to be the best option you will be informed and educated about the medication uses, and side effects. Our medical staff is committed to getting to the core of your mental health concerns. The first medication management session will be 60 minutes and sessions going forward are monthly that are 30 minutes depending on what is addressed in the session.
