Alicia Alarco-Hernandez is a bilingual Licensed Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the CUNY School of Professional Studies. Alicia has experience working with diverse populations, including teens, adults, and seniors. Additionally, Alicia has supported individuals through a wide range of challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, stress, and women’s health concerns, including postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause. Alicia’s goal is to provide support, education, and guidance by utilizing a person-centered and holistic approach to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and compassionate space where clients can explore their thoughts and process their feelings.
Alicia is a lifelong learner, always growing, and she utilizes evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, expressive art therapy, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and strength-based interventions, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals. Alicia emphasizes empathy, cultural humility, LGBTQ+ affirming care, and collaboration to foster safety, build trust, and guide clients toward a meaningful mental health positive change.
